Breakfast, 2026

"A sophisticated contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional still life, this original painting on canvas explores themes of abundance, intimate ritual, and the passage of time within a meticulously constructed domestic setting.""
The composition masterfully balances complex patterns with clear, graphic precision. At its core is a detailed depiction of a lavish breakfast table set against the serene background of a classic balustrade and lush green forest canopy. Every element is selected and positioned to create a layered, multi-sensory experience.
In creating this work, a deliberate focus was placed on textural and structural interplay. The graphic dynamism of the prominent blue-and-pink-striped tablecloth is juxtaposed with the organic forms of the food and foliage. A deep, saturated palette of turquoise and cobalt blues, crimson red in the polka-dot vase and roses, bright emerald green in the asparagus and tree line, and ochre-gold in the iced teas and toasted bread creates a vibrant, optimistic visual narrative.
The artwork functions as a profound study of contrasts. The detailed, delicate patterns on the ceramic tableware (plates and the iconic polka-dot vase) demonstrate technical precision, while the playful inclusion of a small bird among the delicacies (layered cake with berries and a parfait glass) introduces a unique narrative tension. Complex, patterned shadows (such as the striped reflections within the vase's form) are explored as independent graphic elements. The artwork will be shipped rolled for safe transit"
