Description
Abstraction is expressed here through a dense and worked material. The composition plays on a marked contrast between horizontal strata and a dark vertical line. This latter traverses the canvas like a fault, structuring the space with rigor.
The work relies on the accumulation of layers. Acrylic combines with glass to create a tactile relief. The surface evokes natural erosion, the passage of time on stone or metal.
The tones remain sober. Off-white dominates, punctuated by deep grays and an earthy shade. This chromatic dialogue brings an organic dimension to the whole. The eye circulates between the asperities and the calm areas.
This 2021 creation testifies to a research into texture. The artist explores the fusion of materials to translate a sensation of sedimentation. The result is a rich surface, where the light catches the fragments of glass integrated into the paint.
