Description

A glowing birch path leads into quiet transformation. This original oil on canvas artwork constructs a woodland space through the repetition of pale birch trunks, deep vertical shadows, and warm light gathering in the distance. White, silver, green, teal, blue-gray, ochre, and brown passages create a layered forest that feels both physically dense and psychologically open.

The path appears only gradually near the lower center, directing the viewer toward a luminous area beyond the trees. This movement gives the composition a symbolic dimension: the forest becomes a threshold, while the distant radiance suggests clarity, renewal, or an internal transition that has not yet fully revealed itself. Reflective droplets and fine highlights introduce additional texture and reinforce the feeling of moisture and living atmosphere.

Rather than depicting a destination, the artwork focuses on the state of passage itself. The vertical rhythm of the birches creates order, while shifting light and shadow preserve ambiguity. The work is suited to collectors interested in contemporary landscape art, symbolic nature imagery, atmospheric oil surfaces, and woodland scenes that operate as emotional metaphors.

It would bring depth and contemplative energy to a living room, study, bedroom, wellness interior, or curated private collection. It also makes a meaningful gift for someone navigating change, seeking clarity, or maintaining a strong connection to nature.

Presentation

Larissa Mayorova (larissaart) is a contemporary professional artist based in France, living and working on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Originally from Russia, where she studied painting, fine arts and theatrical decorative art, she moved to France in 2003 and continued developing her artistic practice through painting, exhibitions and independent artistic projects.

Her works are regularly presented in solo and group exhibitions in France and across Europe. Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous contemporary art salons, cultural events and international exhibitions, including Art en Capital in Paris, as well as exhibitions in Cannes and other European cities.

Larissa Mayorova is also a laureate of the Fondation Taylor in Paris and has received recognition from the Société des Artistes Français.
Known for her atmospheric paintings exploring mist, reflections, textured surfaces and poetic symbolism, Larissa Mayorova creates dreamlike visual worlds suspended between memory, perception and imagination.
Inspired by the landscapes surrounding Lake Geneva, Venice, water, birch forests, mist and changing light, her work combines experimentation with materials and textures alongside emotional and symbolic imagery. Her paintings often explore the fragility of perception and the shifting boundary between reality and memory. Her Maine Coon cats, which are part of her everyday life, also appear as recurring poetic presences within her artistic universe.
