Description
The energy of Pop Art seizes a global cultural icon here. The line is assured, fast, almost instinctive. The artist uses acrylic and marker to create a striking contrast.
The solar yellow of the character dominates the composition. It stands out against an intense blue background, punctuated by spontaneous paint splatters.
These splashes bring a dynamism specific to Street Art. They break the structure and infuse a constant movement into the image.
The gaze is treated with precision. Touches of white illuminate the eyes, bringing immediate depth to the face.
The contour work, done with black marker, strongly emphasizes the silhouette. This graphic technique recalls the codes of comic books and advertising graphic design.
The whole plays on the saturation of colors. The red of the cheeks brings an essential chromatic focal point.
This 2023 painting merges popular culture and contemporary pictorial expression. It is characterized by a mastered use of splatters and lines of force.
Presentation
Originally from the area of Paris, Martin lives now in the region of Sarthe. From his training at the Corvisart School(Paris) he has always had a taste for visual representation and layout.
He obviously turned to the world of communication by starting a career as artistic director in several advertising agencies before opening his own agency.
