Description
This minimalist composition leads the tension between light and void.
A strong vertical stripe in purplish-red forms the anchor on the left edge. It stands in sharp contrast to the wide area of deep reddish-brown. The balance is deliberately chosen. The red vibrates with intensity. It pushes against the silence of the dark field.
This interplay creates a powerful spatial rhythm. The surface remains flat and strict. No visible brushstrokes disturb the purity of the color blocks. Such a rigorous approach emphasizes the raw emotional effect of the color nuance.
The deep reddish-brown draws the eye. The red demands immediate attention.
This artwork transforms a simple geometric division into a meditation on contrasts. The boundary between the two zones is sharp and precise. It defines a narrow corridor full of energy amidst a silent vacuum.
The depth is created by the saturation of the pigments. The gaze lingers on the precise edge, where warmth meets absolute shadow.

Presentation
Klaus Hoffmann, born 1957
In his works, Klaus Hoffmann explores the interactions of colors and forms, the special color contrasts and the effect of pure monochrome color surfaces.
In doing so, he avoids figurative associations and orients himself towards the art movement of Concrete Art.
He mostly uses geometric forms, which can also show deviations and breaks.
His aim is to create works that only represent themselves and do not refer to things that are outside the pictorial space, in the visible world.
They should also enable a sensual experience of the colors and forms and their interactions.
He works with pure, high-quality pigments, which are rubbed into aqueous acrylic dispersion and applied in numerous thin layers to give the color surfaces depth and enhance their luminosity.
Self-primed raw linen, whose natural structure remains recognizable, serves as the picture support.
This incorporates the picture support into the work and creates an autonomous overall work.
Hoffmann was educated at the Wiesbadener Freie Kunstschule and Freie Kunstakademie Frankfurt, with a focus on painting, composition, and color theory.
