Description
Tides of Pale Morning is an original contemporary abstract seascape diptych by Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026. The composition consists of two 70 × 90 cm acrylic paintings on stretched canvas, conceived as two connected moments of the same atmospheric coastal landscape.
While creating this diptych, I imagined the sea in the early morning, when the first light begins to reveal the horizon and reflections shift between water, sky, and distant land. I wanted the two canvases to communicate with each other without becoming identical, allowing each panel to retain its own movement and character.
The paintings combine soft sky blue, dusty blue, blue-grey, warm ivory, cream, sand, beige, taupe, white, deep navy, charcoal, espresso brown, and earthy ochre accents. Cool luminous tones create a sense of air and reflected water, while darker passages add contrast, depth, and visual structure.
Multiple layers of professional acrylic paint are applied with palette knives, brushes, glazing, scraping, dry-brush techniques, and textured impasto applications. Smooth atmospheric areas meet expressive tactile surfaces, suggesting waves, clouds, reflections, and fragments of shoreline without depicting a specific place.
Moving between abstract landscape and contemporary seascape, creates a feeling of openness, movement, and natural light. Its two-panel format gives the work a strong contemporary presence while preserving the calm atmosphere of the composition.
Both paintings are original one-of-a-kind artworks, painted on stretched canvas, signed on the front, ready to hang, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
