Description
An unusual gaze settles here. The quick and spontaneous line draws a boxer with an unexpected physique. The contrast strikes immediately. Red and massive boxing gloves oppose the finesse of the round glasses.
The style borrows from the codes of Pop Art. The colors are straightforward. The black circle emphasizes deliberately disproportionate shapes. This approach transforms the portrait into an absurd and singular figure.
The artist explores here the gap between appearance and function. This character, both fragile and combative, questions our perception of strength.
The technique uses mixed media to bring relief and rhythm to the composition. The white background leaves all the room for the expressiveness of the subject.
The execution favors a raw aesthetic. The final rendering focuses on the psychological aspect of the character through marked lips and a fixed gaze.

Maxime Frairot studied Political Science. In 2002, he started painting. He draws colorful silhouettes and faces, portraits, groups of people crowded in each other, elaborated patchworks of men and women.
He creates bizarre characters and absurd family portraits. The artist is interested in the relationship between the individual and society.
