Description
This figurative composition plays with the codes of collage to build a dreamlike narrative. The gaze travels between fragments of texts and celestial figures suspended in an azure sky.
The artist precisely assembles heterogeneous elements. Lush flowers and exotic birds frame the scene, creating a luxuriant nature.
The work in acrylic and pencil brings a tactile depth to the whole. A dialogue between the sacred and the profane is observed, where angels mingle with detailed botanical motifs.
The spacious structure of the composition guides the eye towards a deliberately fragmented center. Each superposition adds a layer of meaning to this surreal vision.
The chromatic palette contrasts the softness of pastel tones with the saturation of floral pigments. This 2026 work stands out for its technical mastery and narrative approach.
The rigorous assembly of materials emphasizes a desire to reconstruct the world through the fragment. The final rendering is characterized by the accumulation of organic details and classical figures.
Presentation
Régis Ducellis is a collage and mixed media artist based in the Arcachon basin.
Holding a Master's degree in multimedia, he has worked for fifteen years as an art director and illustrator, mainly in Bordeaux.
These years of visual creation have forged his eye, his compositional rigor, and his sense of narrative through images. Tired of an increasingly timid advertising world and creative content that he finds always more watered down, he decides to return to a more spontaneous, rawer, more personal practice. Analog collage, a natural extension of his digital compositions, becomes his preferred medium.
He progressively adds painting, pencil, and various materials, developing a mixed media approach built by layers and accumulations. His universe mixes lush vegetation, fragmented figures, found texts, and superimposed materials. He cultivates a dreamlike territory where softness coexists with the strange, and where each work remains open to the interpretation of whoever looks at it. Régis works on canvas, wood, and any material he crosses his path.
