Description
A figurative composition where collage intertwines with painting. The gaze follows a woman sitting, absorbed in her reading. She becomes the anchor point of a fragmented world.
Acrylic and pencil draw sharp outlines on a hybrid background. Pieces of paper and newspaper fragments assemble to create a dreamlike space.
Nature invites itself with precision. Colorful birds and flowers in magenta and white hues float around the subject. This dialogue between text and image establishes an atmosphere of serenity.
The palette plays with marked contrasts. The solar yellow dialogues with darker, almost graphic areas. The treatment of textures brings a tactile depth to the whole.
Each element seems chosen to compose a visual narrative about calm and introspection. The work stands out for its meticulous montage and chromatic balance.
The entire work is created in 2026 through a mixed technique combining painting and collages.
Presentation
Régis Ducellis is a collage and mixed media artist based in the Arcachon basin.
Holding a Master's degree in multimedia, he has worked for fifteen years as an art director and illustrator, mainly in Bordeaux.
These years of visual creation have forged his eye, his compositional rigor, and his sense of narrative through images. Tired of an increasingly timid advertising world and creative content that he finds always more watered down, he decides to return to a more spontaneous, rawer, more personal practice. Analog collage, a natural extension of his digital compositions, becomes his preferred medium.
He progressively adds painting, pencil, and various materials, developing a mixed media approach built by layers and accumulations. His universe mixes lush vegetation, fragmented figures, found texts, and superimposed materials. He cultivates a dreamlike territory where softness coexists with the strange, and where each work remains open to the interpretation of whoever looks at it. Régis works on canvas, wood, and any material he crosses his path.
