The Threshold, 2026

Olesia Miftahova

A female silhouette stands, still. Her dress of a deep blue anchors the composition. She faces a luminous arch. This passage opens onto a golden horizon. A red circle floats in the sky, like a distant sun or a mysterious star.
The artist uses a minimalist visual language here. She is inspired by mythological stories and archetypes. The figure looks towards three sketched silhouettes in the distance. They wait, almost transparent, in the light.
The contrast between the dark frame and the solar center creates narrative tension. The acrylic is applied with precision to highlight the colored masses. The play between shadow and light evokes the passage of time and memory.
This figurative painting explores the notion of encounter and transition. The vertical framing accentuates the solemnity of the scene. The whole rests on a restricted palette where blue and ochre dialogue. The purple background envelops the scene in a timeless atmosphere.
