Description
In soft pale blue tones, Tea Time brings back the lamb, a familiar figure from earlier works in the series. He stands beside a small table holding a vase of light-coloured flowers, a teapot and a cup of tea. The scene is simple and almost domestic, yet within this simplicity there remains a sense of layered realities.
Like the Goddess herself, the lamb exists beyond the limits of a single time or place. Here he appears within the contemporary world, yet his presence suggests that different dimensions can coexist. The painting conveys the mood of a calm morning, gentle light and quiet focus, a moment when the everyday becomes a portal to something greater, and care for simple things takes on symbolic meaning.
Presentation
Olesia Miftahova is a Ukrainian artist based in Wales, United Kingdom.
Her practice explores how time reshapes memory and how ancient narratives transform through contemporary experience. Drawing on Celtic, Slavic, and Welsh mythology, alongside biblical imagery, she reinterprets archetypes as living forms that continue to evolve across generations.
Working primarily in acrylic, Miftahova employs symbolic imagery and a minimalist visual language to explore memory, mythology, and the shifting meanings of familiar symbols.
In 2025, she presented her solo exhibitions Garden of Memory and Garden of Memories: Growing Beyond in Wales. Her work has been exhibited internationally across the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Greece, Switzerland, Turkey, the Philippines, and the United States, including exhibitions at the Taras Shevchenko National Museum (Kyiv), POSK Gallery (London), and the Odesa Museum of Western and Eastern Art.
