Hot Static, Circa 2025

Maria Ruisi

"Hot Static" is an original and unique abstract painting by Maria Ruisi, created in 2025 in acrylic using the pouring technique.

The composition unfolds an immediate chromatic energy. Magenta, intense red, and violet propagate across the canvas like a moving heat. These luminous colors meet deep black passages, white flashes, and silvery-gray spaces that structure the whole and reinforce the contrasts.

The title evokes a paradox: an apparently still image that nonetheless seems to vibrate under the effect of continuous tension. The color appears to burn, circulate, and seek an exit. The fluid forms stretch, meet, and then separate, while the cellular details and fine lines introduce a second rhythm, more intimate, visible when one approaches the surface.

Maria Ruisi here associates the natural freedom of pouring with a deliberate construction of light, direction, and balance. The areas left partially visible allow the canvas to breathe and amplify the power of the saturated colors.

The handwritten message on the back summarizes the spirit of the work:

“The heat wavers where the silence breaks;
the electric color burns and awakens."

is a work entirely done by hand. It is signed "R. Maria" on the front, bottom right, then titled, dated, identified, and signed on the back.
