DESCRIPTION
Emerald Current is a unique sculptural wall artwork in which Maria Ruisi transforms matter into movement. Hand-shaped reliefs travel across a deep black field, illuminated by emerald-green surfaces and gold acrylic accents. Each raised element catches the light differently, creating shifting shadows, highlights and depth as the viewer changes position.
The directional rhythm evokes a current emerging from darkness and advancing toward light. Its organic forms can suggest leaves, mineral fragments, wings or concentrated streams of energy. Emerald green introduces vitality and renewal, while black creates depth and gold brings warmth and permanence.
Created in Europe in 2022, this work stands between painting, bas-relief and contemporary wall sculpture. Mounted on solid hardwood and presented in an included minimalist white American box frame.
