PARTY IN FOREST — AGUS ZIMO
A forest gathers its inhabitants. Colour moves between leaves, animals and imagined beings; distant mountains watch over a world filled with encounters. In Party In Forest, Agus Zimo invites us to rediscover nature through wonder.
Created in 2026, this original mixed-media painting combines acrylic and Aqua Proof on canvas. Its vertical composition brings together fantastical creatures, stylised figures and abundant botanical forms. Vivid red, blue, turquoise and yellow emerge against muted earth tones, creating a rhythm of discovery: a small animal, an expressive face, a branching shape, another unexpected presence.
The celebratory atmosphere carries a clear environmental purpose. Zimo regards forests as essential to humanity's survival, yet increasingly overlooked in contemporary life. Here, painting becomes a way of renewing that connection. The forest is alive with stories, and every detail invites closer attention.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Agus Zimo was born on 22 July 1978 and lives and works in Langkaplancar, Pangandaran, West Java, Indonesia. He holds a Bachelor of Education in Fine Arts from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Bandung, and founded Dapur Seni Agus Zimo in 2013.
His practice explores artistic independence, justice, ecology and community. His exhibition history includes solo presentations in Bandung and group exhibitions at Selasar Sunaryo Art Space, Indonesia's National Gallery, ISA Art Gallery and Grey Gallery.

Working in mixed media on canvas, including acrylic and Aqua Proof, Zimo approaches painting as an open conversation. His subjects encourage viewers to reconsider their relationship with nature, society and one another. In , a celebration of woodland beauty becomes an invitation to preserve the living world upon which we depend.
His exhibition history spans two decades, with solo presentations in Bandung and participation in group exhibitions at venues including Selasar Sunaryo Art Space, Indonesia's National Gallery, ISA Art Gallery and Grey Gallery.
