Description
This is a space of profound silence, found at the boundary where the need to be invulnerable fades. A moment to shed an invisible burden, surrender control, and embrace the luxury of absolute stillness. A sanctuary where fragility is no longer a weakness, but a natural right to rest.
Such total defenselessness is only possible when you find an anchor in something infinitely greater than yourself. It is the sensation of a primal, monumental power – an unseen connection to your roots that always stands behind you. In this silent presence, true safety is born: a state where you can simply close your eyes, knowing with absolute certainty that you are protected.
Ships rolled in a rigid tube, delivery included. Stretched delivery, in a wooden crate or a box, is available on request – message me before purchasing for a quote.
Presentation
Marina Ogai (b. 1993, Maysky, Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia) has drawn for as long as she can remember, and being an artist was her earliest dream. Her formal training began at the children's art school in Maysky (2005–2010), followed by painting, drawing and composition at Moscow State University of Design and Technology (2010–2016).
Russian by first name and Korean by surname – her great-grandparents emigrated from Korea to Russia – she grew up between two cultures and made that in-between the starting point of her work. More than twelve years as an art director followed, throughout which she never stopped her own practice; that grounding in visual systems and composition continues to shape her painting. In 2018 she moved to South Korea, the homeland of her ancestors, where she continued to paint; she later divided her time between Korea and Bali. By then, painting had moved to the centre of her life.
Marina Ogai held her first solo exhibition, Inaya, in Ubud, Bali, in 2023, and took part in the OPEN ART Barcelona group show in 2022. She was featured in smART Magazine (Toronto) in 2023. Her work is held in private collections across the United States, Europe and Australia.
