Description

Four mysterious black cats ride impossibly tall bicycles through a glowing green world, waving bright red flags beneath strings of twinkling white lights. Their elongated silhouettes, curious expressions, and delicate wheels create a whimsical procession that seems to belong somewhere between a dream and a fairy tale.

Painted in oil on canvas, this original artwork combines vivid emerald and lime greens with golden yellow, deep brown, and flashes of crimson. The textured background gives the scene a lively, atmospheric quality, while the cats' extraordinary bicycles add a delightful sense of absurdity.

The artwork belongs to 365 Days, a year-long project created between 2013 and 2014, during which the artist completed one small painting each day. Together, the 365 works formed a monumental installation measuring approximately 7 × 3 meters, exhibited in historic venues and châteaux in Haute-Savoie, France.

Each piece captures an intuitive fragment of a particular day, shaped by memory, imagination, and everyday experience. Identified by its creation date rather than an individual title, this artwork preserves its place within that larger journey while offering its own playful story.

With its imaginative characters and captivating colors, this original painting brings an unexpected touch of humor and fantasy to contemporary interiors.

Materials: Oil on canvas. Original artwork from the 365 Days project (2013–2014).

Shipping / Display: Ready to hang. The artwork is shipped in a protective box.

Presentation

Larissa Mayorova (larissaart) is a contemporary professional artist based in France, living and working on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Originally from Russia, where she studied painting, fine arts and theatrical decorative art, she moved to France in 2003 and continued developing her artistic practice through painting, exhibitions and independent artistic projects.

Her works are regularly presented in solo and group exhibitions in France and across Europe. Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous contemporary art salons, cultural events and international exhibitions, including Art en Capital in Paris, as well as exhibitions in Cannes and other European cities.

Larissa Mayorova is also a laureate of the Fondation Taylor in Paris and has received recognition from the Société des Artistes Français.
Known for her atmospheric paintings exploring mist, reflections, textured surfaces and poetic symbolism, Larissa Mayorova creates dreamlike visual worlds suspended between memory, perception and imagination.
Inspired by the landscapes surrounding Lake Geneva, Venice, water, birch forests, mist and changing light, her work combines experimentation with materials and textures alongside emotional and symbolic imagery. Her paintings often explore the fragility of perception and the shifting boundary between reality and memory. Her Maine Coon cats, which are part of her everyday life, also appear as recurring poetic presences within her artistic universe.
