Description
This photograph is part of a reflection on time and human finitude. The image stages a still life where objects become symbols. A Venetian mask, adorned with gold details and lace, dominates the composition. Its empty gaze invites silent introspection. Beside it, a engraved glass vial and a small glass rest on a metal tray.
The artist uses containers to evoke gestation and the cycle of life. The contrast between the rigidity of the metal and the transparency of the glass emphasizes the fragility of existence. The blurred background suggests infinity and questions our place in the universe.
The work on light accentuates the melancholic dimension of the scene. Each element is arranged with precision to amplify the ephemeral nature of our passage. The technical rendering ensures optimal preservation of the nuances and visual details.
Presentation
Gianni Colangelo was born in a small village in Abruzzo where he decided to come back to live. He has traveled a lot, he loves books (even wrote a few), he has always listened with interest to people and is enriched by differences. He started taking photos at the age of 7. In his photos, he puts his thoughts, his fears, his books, his passions, the music he loves. He hopes that those who observe his photographic doodles will perceive it all in it and that if their mind is, by any chance, touched, it will represent his success. The series "Odissey" is a work on time, in the form of still lifes, Gianni Colangelo stages objects that evoke gestation (glasses, containers ...), birth (egg ...) and time that happening (clock, pendulums, alarm clock ...). The choice of still life is made to amplify the ephemeral side of our life compared to a more sustainable environment. The fuzzy nature of the background inspires a questioning of the infinity that surrounds us and the limits of our place in the universe.
