Description
This 1971 etching explores the rigor of geometric abstraction. The gaze focuses on a striking play of contrasts. A white and organic form asserts itself against an earth of shadow.
The line is precise. It delineates sharp spaces and fluid curves. The balance is played between full and empty.
The work is part of a minimalist research. The composition suggests an invisible architecture. The lines intertwine to create a subtle depth.
The artist uses engraving here to purify their vision. The rendering is sharp. The chromatic palette remains sober to make way for structure.
This piece testifies to exemplary technical mastery. It rests on a controlled graphic tension. The whole is composed of a single dark tone on light paper.
