Description
A city transforms under a bold gaze. This urban landscape revisits classical architecture with the codes of street art. The contrast is immediate. The stone and traditional roofs fade behind an explosion of saturated colors.
The line is precise. Digital graffiti comes to cover the facades and monuments. This superposition creates a dialogue between tradition and modernity. The influence of pop culture asserts itself through naive forms and graphic lettering.
The approach is subversive. The landscape becomes a playground where imagination prevails over reality. The dawn light illuminates a scene where vandalism becomes a creative act.
This composition plays on depth. The gaze travels from the river to the foreground to the distant hills. The whole is treated with a technical precision specific to digigraphia.
The work presents itself as a limited edition. It captures the energy of a city reinvented through the prism of the Fluxus movement. The final detail relies on the integration of a stylized character observing the scene.
Presentation
Maxime Blachère is an atypical artist from Savoy, now living near Lyon and present in 25 countries and several art galleries in Europe and the US. Maxime Blachère's universe is filled with humor and saturated colors.
Self-taught and versatile, his sources of inspiration are multiple. Comics, pop culture, photography and of course Street-art.In phase with the Fluxus movement, he uses and mixes the codes of the environments that inspires him and of the artists he meets to give free rein to his imagination and deliver offbeat works, sometimes naive, sometimes subversive, like his series of works "Vandal is color" where Maxime takes pleasure in virtually vandalizing urban landscapes around the world.
