Description
A city scene captures the moment. The gaze stops on the whiteness of a monumental lion. This statue dominates the passage of city dwellers. The raking light sculpts the volumes of the stone and highlights the contours of the silhouettes.
The work relies on geometric precision. Each line defines the space with rigor. The color contrasts create an architectural depth. Ocher and gray tones oppose each other to render the atmosphere of an evening.
The artist captures the silence at the heart of the movement. Passersby are ignored. Some wear helmets, isolated in their music. A woman contemplates the imposing sculpture. This face-to-face establishes a contemplative pause in the daily flow.
This composition explores the relationship between human and monument. The digital treatment brings contemporary sharpness. The composition guides the eye towards the top of the frame. This image is a high-definition digigraphie on paper.
Presentation
It was on the sidelines of his scientific studies that Matthieu Forichon felt in love with drawing and learned to make images. Self-taught, geometry and mathematics still brought him perspectives and rigor in his artistic approach. With an engineering degree in hand, he finally decided to devote himself entirely to illustration. He quickly began to carry out commissioning work for French and then international brands.
Lyonnais at heart, he has always been in love with the atmosphere of cafes, he met the painter Jacques Truphémus and together, they talked about painting for long hours and thanks to his kindness and his advices, Matthieu Forichon started to paint on the sidelines of his work as a digital illustrator.
Passionate about atmospheres and play of light, his figurative painting brushes silent atmospheres where the gaze likes to get lost.
