Description
A night scene captures the essence of a Parisian evening under a golden light. The artist plays with the contrasts between the darkness of the sky and the warm glow of the urban lighting. The eye falls on the Café de la Paix, whose yellow awnings diffuse a soft clarity on the wet pavement.
The composition relies on a geometric rigor inherited from a scientific background. The lines of classical architecture structure the space with precision.
Several anonymous silhouettes stroll, bringing a human and calm dimension to the landscape. A woman with her back to the viewer observes the monumental facade while a couple moves away to the right.
The visual rendering favors controlled flat areas and orange reflections on the ground, evoking fine rain. This figurative approach transforms a banal moment into a suspended parenthesis.
This 2026 creation is made via a digigraphie on fine art paper. It is a high-quality digital print that faithfully reproduces the depth of the colors and the sharpness of the architectural details.
Presentation
It was on the sidelines of his scientific studies that Matthieu Forichon felt in love with drawing and learned to make images. Self-taught, geometry and mathematics still brought him perspectives and rigor in his artistic approach. With an engineering degree in hand, he finally decided to devote himself entirely to illustration. He quickly began to carry out commissioning work for French and then international brands.
Lyonnais at heart, he has always been in love with the atmosphere of cafes, he met the painter Jacques Truphémus and together, they talked about painting for long hours and thanks to his kindness and his advices, Matthieu Forichon started to paint on the sidelines of his work as a digital illustrator.
Passionate about atmospheres and play of light, his figurative painting brushes silent atmospheres where the gaze likes to get lost.
