Description
A parenthesis of calm seized in the heart of urban effervescence. The gaze falls on a woman absorbed by her daily gestures. She waters her plants on a rooftop terrace while a coffee smokes in her hands.
The composition plays on a striking contrast. In the foreground, the domesticated nature brings vegetal freshness. In the background, the silhouette of a metropolis stretches under a sky with powdered hues.
The light, soft and enveloping, bathes the scene in contemplative serenity. The line is precise. The geometry of the buildings responds to the fluidity of organic forms.
The artist explores here chosen solitude and the poetry of simple moments. Every detail invites daydreaming, from the cat hidden in the shadow to the reflections on the leaves.
This work is a high-definition digigraph realized on paper in 2025. It captures with finesse the suspended atmosphere of a city evening.
Presentation
It was on the sidelines of his scientific studies that Matthieu Forichon felt in love with drawing and learned to make images. Self-taught, geometry and mathematics still brought him perspectives and rigor in his artistic approach. With an engineering degree in hand, he finally decided to devote himself entirely to illustration. He quickly began to carry out commissioning work for French and then international brands.
Lyonnais at heart, he has always been in love with the atmosphere of cafes, he met the painter Jacques Truphémus and together, they talked about painting for long hours and thanks to his kindness and his advices, Matthieu Forichon started to paint on the sidelines of his work as a digital illustrator.
Passionate about atmospheres and play of light, his figurative painting brushes silent atmospheres where the gaze likes to get lost.
