Description
The image captures a moment suspended in the heart of the city. A stone lion dominates the scene. It seems to watch over the passersby. Its massive silhouette contrasts with the finesse of the human silhouettes.
The light plays a central role. It sculpts the volumes and emphasizes the contours. The warm tones evoke an autumn late afternoon. The bare trees frame the composition with geometric rigor.
In the foreground, anonymous figures are moving. Their attitudes are calm. One of them looks up at the sculpture, creating a link between the real world and the immobility of the monument. The style combines technical precision and atmospheric softness.
This composition portrays daily life through an attentive gaze. The rendering is sharp and modern.
The work is an HD digigraph realized in 2026 on paper.
Presentation
It was on the sidelines of his scientific studies that Matthieu Forichon felt in love with drawing and learned to make images. Self-taught, geometry and mathematics still brought him perspectives and rigor in his artistic approach. With an engineering degree in hand, he finally decided to devote himself entirely to illustration. He quickly began to carry out commissioning work for French and then international brands.
Lyonnais at heart, he has always been in love with the atmosphere of cafes, he met the painter Jacques Truphémus and together, they talked about painting for long hours and thanks to his kindness and his advices, Matthieu Forichon started to paint on the sidelines of his work as a digital illustrator.
Passionate about atmospheres and play of light, his figurative painting brushes silent atmospheres where the gaze likes to get lost.
