Description
This captivating sculpture combines elegance and modernity through its construction in materials of brass, wood, and resin. A polished and patinated black radiant sphere dominates the composition, evoking celestial visions or futuristic objects. It is perfectly balanced on a slender column-shaped base, which widens towards its base. The base itself is firmly anchored to a striped rectangle, providing stability and adding an intriguing visual pattern. The juxtaposition of curved and straight lines draws the eye, while the richness of the metallic tones creates a dynamic visual effect. Contemporary sculptor, Stéphane Szendy shapes wood, bronze, resin, glass and enamel with a mastery worthy of a jeweler. Drawing his inspiration from nature and the history of art, he creates stylized works with clean lines, evoking totems or timeless trophies. Each sculpture is distinguished by a subtle play of textures and patinas, giving a unique depth to his creations.
Trained in Fine Arts and heir to family know-how, Szendy Stéphane cultivates an extreme attention to detail, even to the bases of his works. His work, marked by a rigor and a rare artistic sensitivity, transcends the material to arouse emotion and contemplation. Since 2000, he has exhibited in numerous fairs and participates each year in Maison & Objet. Distinguished by the Arts-Sciences-Lettres medal in 2011, he has been a member of the Ateliers d'Art de France since 2006.
