Description
This exquisitely crafted wooden sculpture captures the imagination with its organic and abstract forms. The raw, subtly polished material reveals a naturally rich and warm texture, contrasting with the sinuous lines that seem to dance in space. The design evokes a fusion of the human body and plant elements, suggesting a harmonious symbiosis between humanity and nature. The dark base elevates the work, adding a solemn dimension to its presence. The fluid curves and deep hollows cast intriguing shadows, rendering the sculpture dynamic in different lighting. Its bold and innovative design encourages contemplative interaction, prompting the viewer to explore every angle and discover new facets. This powerful work does more than simply decorate; it invites profound reflection on our connection to the natural world.
Presentation
Luc Letailleur's technique respects the different types of wood, creating compact pieces where the hollows formed by the carving blend energetically into the solid wood.
Born in 1955, Luc created his first sculptures in 1973; he is a self-taught artist who proudly proclaims himself.
Trained in cabinetmaking at the Duguesclin high school in Auray, he began his professional career at the Moulin de Pomper as an antique dealer selling English furniture.
Luc Letailleur's style evokes the beginnings of Cubism and primitive art sculptures made directly from tree trunks. He works with hardwoods such as ebony, hornbeam, ash, and poplar.
