Description
This creation explores the fluidity of the body through organic minimalism. The curve, the central element of the artist's research, draws a suggested silhouette here. The pure white stands out with precision against a deep blue background. This contrast creates a striking play of depth.
The use of resin and stone brings a tactile dimension to the composition. The acrylic technique enriches the background with mottled shades, evoking an atmospheric or aquatic space. The eye glides over the soft lines that stretch without break.
The approach prioritizes sensation over intellect. The form seems to breathe, suspended in a serene balance. This piece plays on the erasure of contours to allow room for the spectator's imagination. The structure is set within a sober frame that emphasizes the purity of the line. The whole relies on a mastered alliance between industrial design and artisanal sensitivity. The composition ends with a gradient of azure tones.
Presentation
Born in 1970, Gaël Rouxeville is the artist of the Living Curve. His work, disseminated in France and internationally, has been the subject of numerous solo and group exhibitions, publications, and has been included in private and public collections (notably that of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia).
Drawing on expertise in industrial design and cabinetmaking, and committed to an eco-responsible approach, his creative process engages memory, the unconscious, and the imagination. For 30 years, he has explored the possibilities of the "Living Curve," a source of inspiration, an expressive language, and the guiding thread of his work. The numerous media, materials, and themes he explores are never an end in themselves, but rather a means of approaching and experiencing a universal consciousness.
His work results in a world of organic, “living" forms, figurative or not; forms that are simple in appearance and open to interpretation, engaging the viewer's memories and imagination. Gaël Rouxeville's art is less intellectual than sensual. It's an invitation to let go, to welcome, to stop searching... Like these curves that stretch and relax, it suddenly seems that time is elongating. The boundaries that appeared so clear become blurred, shifting... The mind then floats, as if levitating; a dance of space and time!
