Description
Fire 01 resembles a minimal architecture, simultaneously rock, fragment and shelter.
The piece evokes a rock, a piece of meteorite, or the heart of a material in transformation. It seems to come from elsewhere while resonating with forms of vernacular architecture, similar to troglodyte dwellings.
Conceived as an interactive sculpture, it can be opened to accommodate a light source. The closed and compact exterior reveals a hollowed-out interior: a cave, a protected space where fire can appear.
This duality between exterior and interior structures the room. Closed, it suggests a broken, marked form, as if traversed by a history. Open, it reveals an interior landscape, made of lines and cavities.
In the background, a presence of molten blue glass evokes a body of water, dark and deep — another form of life, hidden.
Made of red stoneware, the piece asserts a raw materiality, contrasting with the softness of its ovoid volumes.

His works — shells, shelters, fragments — lie at the boundary between the living and architecture.
They unfold silent forms, where time seems suspended.
Based in Lyon, Manon Oller is a multidisciplinary artist whose work primarily unfolds through sculpture, in dialogue with photography and performance. A graduate of the European Institute of Ceramic Arts (IEAC), she also studied art history and archaeology at the University of Strasbourg, which inform her research on traces and temporalities.
The earth, his primary medium, is a living material, charged with memory.
His works appear as fragments of a world in transformation — between past and becoming.
