Biografie

Dondi Schwartz ist ein israelischer Künstler, der 1961 in Kanada geboren wurde und im Kibbuz Beeri im Negev in Israel lebt und arbeitet. Schwartz studierte Kunst an der Avni Art School in Tel Aviv, im Mal- und Schreibatelier des Kibbutz und im Studio Uta Patinkin. Außerdem studierte er Fotografie an der Camera Obscura School of Arts, der Beit-Svi Film School in Tel Aviv und der Concordia University in Montreal. Die Werke des Künstlers bewegen sich frei zwischen den dekorativen Werken des Jugendstils und den tiefen Gedanken der Surrealisten, während sie manchmal die Einfachheit naiver Künstler einbeziehen. Durch seine Bilder erleben wir die Freiheit und Natur des ländlichen israelischen Lebens, wo man von der Verbindung mit der natürlichen Umgebung träumt. Schwartz hat mehrere Romane in hebräischer Sprache veröffentlicht und zahlreiche unabhängige Filme in Form von Dokumentarfilmen und abendfüllenden Dramen produziert, die an Filmfestivals teilgenommen und in israelischen Kinos und im israelischen Fernsehen gezeigt wurden.
