Description
This artwork is a dynamic and complex composition that blends text and abstract elements. The elongated vertical canvas is saturated with a mix of red, orange, and brown hues, creating a vivid contrast to the white background. The seemingly handwritten text weaves across the artwork, providing depth and texture. Black ink blots and splashes of color disrupt and reinforce the linear flow, suggesting controlled chaos. The layered visuals invite viewers to explore its complexity, with saturated colors blending and merging, creating a sense of organic movement. The vertical orientation emphasizes a sense of ascent or descent, drawing the eye along its length. The raw and expressive nature of the artwork captures an intersection of language, form, and emotion, presenting a unique narrative that invites personal interpretation and reflection.
Presentation
Born in Georgia, he studied Literature at the University of Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has lived in Buenos Aires since 1995.
The Georgian-Argentine artist Gaios creates a very interesting post-production work using paper as raw material in the form of books, letters or documents. The universe of Literature is the substrate of his artistic work. He rewrites the pages like a medieval scribe using graphics, signs, symbols and ideograms from the universe of visual arts.
The convergence of these two worlds is the leitmotiv of his works. Both universes are syncretized by means of psychic automatism, the artist's drives and impulses, which allow us to visualize the central core of his works: chaos.
We present part of his works forming imaginary Fibonacci series whose numerical sequences were used by Da Vinci, Velázquez and many others. This golden ratio attempts to create new dream books that guide us, without intending to, towards the Borgesian labyrinth, from which we will not be able to escape, because it is infinite and will be our essential prison.
