Description
This artwork is a striking fusion of abstraction and text, rendered on a textured surface. The piece features a chaotic yet harmonious blend of black and red splatters, creating a vibrant explosion of color that draws the eye. Beneath the vivid splotches, delicate cursive text sprawls across the surface, suggesting depth and mystery. The interplay of ink and watercolor blurs the boundaries of form and narrative, inviting viewers to engage with its layers. The piece exudes an atmosphere of intensity and spontaneity, with each element contributing to a sense of movement and energy. The bold use of contrasting hues, coupled with the interplay of text and form, distinguishes this artwork, making it an evocative and thought-provoking creation that compels repeated examination.
Presentation
Born in Georgia, he studied Literature at the University of Tbilisi, Georgia. He holds a PhD in Humanities from the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has lived in Buenos Aires since 1995.
The Georgian-Argentine artist Gaios creates a very interesting post-production work using paper as raw material in the form of books, letters or documents. The universe of Literature is the substrate of his artistic work. He rewrites the pages like a medieval scribe using graphics, signs, symbols and ideograms from the universe of visual arts.
The convergence of these two worlds is the leitmotiv of his works. Both universes are syncretized by means of psychic automatism, the artist's drives and impulses, which allow us to visualize the central core of his works: chaos.
We present part of his works forming imaginary Fibonacci series whose numerical sequences were used by Da Vinci, Velázquez and many others. This golden ratio attempts to create new dream books that guide us, without intending to, towards the Borgesian labyrinth, from which we will not be able to escape, because it is infinite and will be our essential prison.
