Idea No. 5 – Modular Abstract Painting from the “Neuroplasticity" Series

“Idea No. 5" is a conceptual and interactive abstract work from the Neuroplasticity series. Created using the artist's original MAM technique (Modular Art Mobile), this dynamic composition consists of two acrylic-painted canvases—one square, one vertical—that physically interact. The vertical module can be shifted across the base canvas, allowing the artwork to transform depending on the viewer's mood, perception, or environment.

This fluid reconfiguration evokes the concept of neuroplasticity—the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new connections. The piece invites engagement and emotional resonance: one moment meditative, the next electric with bold color and movement.

A vivid palette of magenta, deep teal, citrus yellow, and glowing blue immerses the viewer in a dreamlike atmosphere. Abstract forms ripple across both modules, suggesting subconscious thought patterns, impulses, and shifts in awareness. As much sculpture as it is painting, Idea No. 5 bridges visual art, psychology, and play.

Electric magenta

Presentation

Lara Kolchina is a multidisciplinary artist and spatial designer based in Samara, Russia. With over a decade of professional experience, she works at the intersection of abstract and relief painting, contemporary design, and public art. Kolchina creates large-scale, textured works that engage both architectural space and emotional perception. Her creative philosophy centers on the belief that art can elevate consciousness through the interplay of composition, color, and line.

Her work has been featured in major international exhibitions, including (Turkey, 2023), (USA, 2024), and the group project "Naked nature" in London (2022). In 2022, she launched an art coworking hub in Samara and initiated the large-scale participatory project , which has involved over 10,000 participants and generated community artworks used in collaborations with institutions such as the Krylia Sovetov Football Club. One of these collective abstract paintings became a design element for team uniforms and official merchandise, transforming art into a shared symbol of identity.

In 2024, Kolchina developed and patented the MAM (Module Art Mobile) technique—an innovative approach allowing movable painted fragments on canvas. This modular system invites the viewer to interact with the artwork, shifting its meaning and composition according to their emotional state. The concept was launched through her series, exploring the adaptive nature of perception and form.

Lara Kolchina is a graduate of the Moscow University of Tourism and Service, with a degree in spatial art and design. She is a resident of the creative cluster and continues to merge fine art, architecture, and social engagement in her evolving practice.
