Description
This maple masterpiece is distinguished by its organic and fluid form, mysteriously evoking molten material. The sculptor has masterfully captured the illusion of wood slowly melting. The sinuous curves and undulations that traverse the surface create a captivating dynamism, irresistibly drawing the eye. The natural grain of the wood enriches the work, adding depth and texture. Each angle reveals a new facet, highlighting the artist's technical mastery and inventiveness. This unique piece defies traditional wood carving conventions, offering a visual experience that is as intriguing as it is captivating.
Presentation
I grew up admiring art in general thanks to my father, who was a painter and musician, and my grandfather, who was a writer. Growing up in such an environment has undoubtedly influenced my current choice of career as a woodcarver.
I mainly create my works by hand using a gouge without power tools in order to maintain an eco-friendly approach, and I only use reclaimed wood. This is my way of giving a second life to such a noble material. I try to evoke the themes of time and space as well as human emotion through my works. That is why my abstract style combined with a touch of realism suits me perfectly. For me, sculpture is an outlet for my thoughts and feelings, which I express through the noble material of wood.
