Plaster Sculpture for Sale

Many years, plaster has been used for drafts or models of stone or marble sculptures. Only recently has it been recognized as a work of art in itself. Plaster is fragile and white when left in its natural state; artworks made of plaster have a poetic and aerial appearance. 

On Artsper, artists are having a field day with the medium, which is being appropriated in a wide variety of ways through contemporary practice. Marina Mankarios, for example, is transcribing the codes of classical statues into her own plaster sculptures. Christina A.
