  • About the artwork

    Artwork sold in perfect condition

Contemporary design in refined fine art bronze. A limited edition of 100, numbered, marked and signed by the artist.

An aesthetically pleasing contemporary bronze sculpture for the mantel. When placed in the entryway, hall, foyer, or even outdoors on the path to the front door, it becomes a focal point. It's speaking to the visitor about the love in your home.

The figures are elegantly crossing their legs toward one another and sit in quiet, loving companionship. The sculptures are contemporary modern, yet timeless, in their subtle endearing expression. Faces, shoulders, knees and feet are polished as if they were lovingly touched when passing by. The faces, when closely viewed, mirrors the image of the viewer. Through reflection, the sculptures become to represent the collectors self.

When mounted on a wall or a tall pedestal, the sculpture becomes a focal point of the room. When they are sitting on a shelf, side board on their flat stone base, they are more discretely blending in with many styles of decor.
"The Two of Us" have seen places like the desert of the annual Burning Man Festival and Paris, France. Maybe your home is another highlight.

The bronzes are part of a collection of individual figures. It's a modular concept to assemble a customizable family portrait starting with the single figure to a family of 6 members. The first sculptures by Yenny Cocq were created and cast in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2004 where Yenny was owner of Galerivaerkstedet, a working Studio Gallery in Frederiksberg.

The sculptures are lost wax cast in a foundry in Colorado and finished in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Measured from head to toe the total height is 24"or 60 cm. Keep in mind that they are "sitting" sculptures. The stone base is Texas shell stone or travertine.

Yenny Cocq's Creative Inspiration.

My artistic expression and challenge is to refine the human figure to basic and almost geometric forms. I love to use simple body postures and language to portray an emotional idea or story. My romantic couples express all the romantic or loving longings with their unique body language.

Together, they display an emergent emotional expression. With simple lines and planes, I work to capture the essence of these gestures. The couples and families are separate individuals but bound in non-verbal communication. It is my hope that viewers feel their own experiences, perceptions and passions reflected in my sculptures.
