Satisfyer, 2026

Juliane Hundertmark

This visceral oil drawing captures a moment of distorted ecstasy. The figure emerges from the white void with an exaggerated, wide-eyed expression. Its features are blurred by frantic, expressive brushstrokes. Pink and red hues dominate the face, suggesting a state of intense emotional agitation or manic joy. The mouth opens in a cavernous grin, revealing a glimpse of raw energy.
The artist employs a sharp, satirical lens to explore human psychology. Every line feels urgent. The hands, rendered in dark, sketchy contours, clasp together in a gesture of anticipation. This creates a tension between the chaotic facial features and the focused posture.
The technique blends figurative precision with expressionist distortion. It recalls the biting social critiques of the early twentieth century while remaining firmly rooted in contemporary angst. The composition focuses on the unmasking of a raw, unfiltered emotion. The artwork operates as a psychoanalytical study of pleasure and discomfort. The gaze is piercing, drawing the viewer into a surreal confrontation with the subconscious. The piece concludes with a handwritten inscription at the base, anchoring the visual chaos with a singular, provocative word.
