Sur la vague x petit prince, 2024

This artwork is a fascinating fusion of classical and contemporary elements, captured in a creatively vibrant digital format. It depicts a modern rendering of the iconic character of “The Little Prince," set within a chromatic interpretation of the famous Japanese woodblock print, “The Great Wave off Kanagawa" by Hokusai. The Little Prince, dressed in his traditional green and gold attire, stands calmly on a bright yellow raft, contrasting strikingly with the deeply rich hues of the background. The azure and white waves are meticulously rendered using points of light, creating a pixelated effect that evokes the digital age. In the background, multi-colored horizontal bands add an extra dimension of dynamism and modernity, while recalling the pixels of a computer screen. The points of light used to construct the image provide a unique texture to the work, captivating the eye and inducing a sense of the waves' incessant movement. The juxtaposition of the delicacy of the Little Prince with the tumultuous immensity of the wave captures the essence of adventure and innocence in the face of the vastness of the universe. This work does not simply celebrate two universal icons; it transcends them by amalgamating them in a vibrant and resolutely innovative fresco. The artful use of light and color makes this creation a centerpiece, provoking both wonder and reflection on our own place in the face of the natural and technological forces of the world.
