Description
Kotmin 47
In "August" by Olga Artim, the artist portrays a vibrant and abundant still life that encapsulates the richness of the late summer harvest. A woven basket overflowing with ripe grapes—both green and red—sits surrounded by a cascade of delicate blue and pink flowers. The scene is bathed in natural light, with intricate details highlighting the texture of the fruit and the soft petals of the flowers. A small butterfly resting near the grapes adds a sense of tranquility and connection with nature. Artim likely aimed to express the abundance and beauty of nature during the harvest season, celebrating the richness of summer's end. The choice of bright, lively colors and the lush composition reflect the warmth and vitality of August, a time of fruitfulness and celebration. The painting invites viewers to savor the beauty and bounty of nature, evoking feelings of gratitude and joy for the gifts of the earth.

Studied: She studied at a children's music school, and then transferred to a children's art school. After graduating from school, she entered the Odessa State Art School named after M. Grekov (painting), which she graduated in 1985 with honors. She studied at the Lviv Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute named after I. Fedorov (graphics), which she graduated in 1993. Not stopping there, she studied in the workshop of the People's Artist of Ukraine M. O. Ryasnyansky. She began her creative activity in 1993. She works in oil painting.
Member of the youth association at the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1993).
Works as an artist of the Nikolaev art-production plant (since 1985). Main works: triptych "Spring Dreams" (1993); “Pink Dream", “Three Graces" (both - 1994); “Poppies of Chernobyl" (1995); “Olbia", “Forest Gifts", “Leda" (all - 1997); “Sweet-voiced sirens", “The Legend of Phaeton" (both - 1998); “Red viburnum", “Mountain ash by the window", “Amsterdam tulips" (all - 1999).
The artist has more than 40 exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, including 10 personal ones. Her works are in private collections in Japan, the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Russia and Ukraine.
Perceiving the world around her with love, everything that surrounds her, she recreates it with reverent tenderness in her paintings. Different in form and color scheme, they amaze with the author's ability to see beauty in all manifestations of life, to notice the beautiful in a child's smile, the gray head of a veteran. In still lifes, various manifestations of flowers are felt - brightness, variety of colors, sophisticated aroma.
The portrait genre occupies a large place in the author's work. All portrait and still life paintings are painted from nature. The characters, their costumes, and entourage are the author's ideas; he always creates clothes for the "models" with his own hands.
