Description
Sklim18
The painting “Grandma is making pies" by Ukrainian artist Oksana Sklym is filled with warmth, comfort, and deep respect for folk traditions. The canvas depicts a scene of rural life: a grandmother in an embroidered blouse carefully takes a tray of golden pies from the oven, while her granddaughter stands nearby, watching intently. The girl's gaze is full of admiration and curiosity — she is absorbing the atmosphere of home and learning from her elder. The artist pays special attention to details: embroidered towels, the traditional oven, rustic household items, and national clothing — all of these create the authentic atmosphere of a Ukrainian home. The warm light falling on the faces of the two figures emphasizes their closeness and trust. Through this work, the author sought to express the importance of family values, generational continuity, and respect for cultural heritage. The painting conveys not only a household moment but also the feeling of roots, connection to the land, and traditions that unite the family and preserve the spiritual strength of the people.
