Description
This artwork captivates with its bold use of vibrant colors and geometric shapes. At the heart of the composition, a stained-glass window casts an enchanting light with a palette of blues and yellows. The interior is dominated by a black and white checkered floor, creating a striking contrast. To the left, a vibrant vase holds stylized flowers, injecting a touch of nature into this abstract space. An elegant, slender, black female silhouette adds an enigmatic dimension to the scene. The patchwork in the foreground provides rich texture, further enlivening the piece. This work stands out for its harmonious blend of surrealism and modernism, captivating both the eye and the imagination.
Presentation
Imagine a great master of Japanese prints miraculously transported to the digital age, a successor to Hokusai or Hiroshige immersed in the frenzied nights of Shibuya, the trendy and arty district of Tokyo. Add to that an intimate knowledge of the fashion world, a punk attitude and finally a touch of Francophilia - because Masahito Hiranuma spent part of his youth in Paris.
His recent works, including a series of digital prints entitled Twelve Views of Paris , testify to this extraordinary cultural mix. The Twelve Views of Paris will be exhibited in 2021 as part of the 10th edition of the Fontainebleau Art History Festival, of which Japan is the guest country.
