Description
This vibrant artwork captures an iconic figure in a boldly expressive style. The subject, clad in his signature green cap adorned with an "L" and blue overalls, is depicted with exaggerated, cartoonish features, accentuating his wide eyes and thick mustache. The color palette, dominated by green and blue, is enhanced with vivid touches of black and red, creating a striking contrast. The image's outlines are energetically drawn, adding an almost chaotic dynamism to the whole. The treatment of materials appears to have been done with thick paint, lending a palpable texture. Signed in the lower left corner, the artist manages to evoke a sense of nostalgia while simultaneously asserting his contemporary vision. Maxime Frairot was born in 1976 in Lyon (Rhone). He lives and works in Troyes (Aube) since January 2003.
Maxime Frairot studied Political Science. In 2002, he started painting. He draws colorful silhouettes and faces, portraits, groups of people crowded in each other, elaborated patchworks of men and women.
He creates bizarre characters and absurd family portraits. The artist is interested in the relationship between the individual and society.
