Description
Maria Ruisi develops a contemporary abstraction where matter becomes language. Her work explores depth, relief, and the vibration of light on a sculpted surface, with a high standard of finish and a powerful, almost architectural presence. Each piece is designed as a visual and sensory experience: minimal in intent, powerful in impact.
Heart Dragon is a contemporary relief work where matter unfolds like a living skin. The surface is constructed through an accumulation of sculpted, tightly packed, organic forms, evoking a pattern of scales, the movement of a wing, or animal respiration. Nothing is merely decorative: every relief carries an intention, a direction, a tension.
The emerald green — dense and deep — captures light through micro-variations. From certain angles, the work appears dark and silent; from others, it illuminates with discreet metallic reflections, like an internal energy circulating beneath the surface. This alternation creates a rare sensation: the work seems to move without moving, solely through the presence of the relief and the precision of the nuances.
The panoramic format (123 cm) reinforces the impression of a "passage": a trajectory, a wave, a contained force.
