Description
A study of structure and symmetry. This oil painting captures a monumental portal with architectural precision. The composition balances rigid geometry with fluid, organic ornaments. Warm ochre tones contrast against a pale, luminous grey. These colors evoke the weathered surface of ancient stone or carved wood.
The artist explores the intersection of memory and physical space. Every line reflects a disciplined academic background. The ornate carvings suggest a cultural heritage, blending classical influences with a contemporary gaze. Light falls softly across the facade, creating a sense of stillness and permanence.
The perspective is direct and imposing. It invites the viewer to contemplate the threshold between two realms. This artwork transforms a functional object into a meditative symbol of identity and transition. The pale blue sky provides a breathable void above the heavy ornamentation. Detailed flourishes crown the top of the structure, leading the eye toward the subtle textures of the oil medium.

Nataliya Lemesheva is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the themes of memory, identity, and migration. After establishing her professional career and gaining academic recognition, Lemesheva relocated her studio to Spain in 2020. This transition became a catalyst for an in-depth investigation into the concept of “living between worlds.”
Her work has been exhibited in prestigious institutions, including the Royal Academy of Arts (London) and the Grand Palais (Paris), as well as across galleries in Spain and Russia. In her practice, Lemesheva reimagines the traditions of Dutch still life and classical painting through contemporary mediums such as papier-mâché and industrial plastic, creating hybrid objects at the intersection of sculpture and painting. She currently lives and works in Barcelona
