Description
Jean-Luc Beaufils — Le village, 2025
Oil on canvas created in 2025, Jean-Luc Beaufils' village measures 55 x 46 cm (64 x 55 cm with its black picture frame). The work is signed in the bottom left. It is sold with a certificate of authenticity issued by Jean-Luc Sourillan.
With this composition full of energy and freshness, Jean-Luc Beaufils deploys an immediately recognizable universe, driven by bold colors, assertive graphic lines, and a free yet perfectly balanced construction. The stylized houses seem to fit into each other while the perspectives cross in an almost imaginary scene, halfway between urban landscape and abstraction.
The blocks of red, green, blue, and yellow create an immediate visual vibration. The black outlines structure the composition and reinforce its rhythm, giving the whole a strong and very contemporary presence. Behind the apparent simplicity of the forms, the artist develops an instinctive, lively, and particularly expressive painting.
With this painting, Beaufils offers a poetic and colorful vision of the landscape, where color becomes a language in itself. This work perfectly reflects the warm and dynamic universe of the artist, today appreciated for his luminous compositions and his free approach to contemporary figuration.
Presentation
From the age of 4 years, we already see in Jean Luc Beaufils a predisposition to drawing and color. Later, he analyze the forms, construction, tones and became familiar with a certain talent that quickly turns into aboutis tables.
His teachers are amazed at the enthusiasm and talent that it demonstrates to practice gouache and marker drawing and laying the colors. He is an artist at heart, he has this drive that hugged each artist.
In the 70s, Jean Luc Beaufils made his first paintings, his pure sketches emerge at once, the drawing is impulsive, the color is straightforward. Now the artist is completely absorbed by painting and participated in his first exhibitions, which encountered great success. The first awards are linked, exhibitions multiply.
He visits museums, galleries, devouring art in all its forms. He guesses his masters, the chosen, then the tame; is Matisse, Picasso, Chagall. Ten years after his debut, sketches is widely recognized in the galleries where he exhibited among the largest, on the walls next to his paintings the most prestigious names can be admired Van Dongen, Gen Paul, Bernard Buffet, Louis Cavaillès, François Desnoyers, Jean Cocteau, Louis Latapie, Edouard Pignon, André Lhote, Raoul Dufy, Yves Brayer, André Derain ... it's unprecedented success.
Exhibitions started abroad where galleries are quick to present it as the new French modern painter. His paintings are sold in the United States, Japan, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland. The painter is happy, he is stubborn, tenacious, hardworking, search perfection and reaping the fruits of this incessant work through major exhibitions that quickly led him to fame.
For over thirty-five years sketches is faithful to the color, the material he displays his paintings with agility and precision, his passion is contagious; sensitivity surrounds us, we permeates the artist is present in all his paintings.
