Arco Romano, 2026

Dolores Deloma Sanchez

This abstract composition blends architectural precision with raw emotional energy. A classical arch emerges from a storm of texture. The structure stands as a silent witness to time. It anchors the canvas amidst a whirlwind of gestural strokes.
The palette is a study in contrast. Deep cerulean blues clash with stark whites and charcoal greys. A sudden surge of crimson red dominates the lower right quadrant. This bold slash of color injects a sense of urgency and passion into the scene.
The artist employs a heavy impasto technique. Layers of paint are scraped and piled to create a tactile surface. This physical depth mirrors the erosion of the ancient stone depicted. The boundary between the figurative and the abstract dissolves. The artwork captures a moment of collapse and endurance.
Light pierces through the central void of the arch. It creates a luminous focal point that draws the eye inward. The composition balances the weight of history with the freedom of spontaneous expression. Every brushstroke adds to a narrative of memory and decay. The final result is a powerful dialogue between order and chaos.
