Description
This oil painting captures a moment of quiet stillness. A white bowl holds two green pears, their rounded forms glowing with soft light. Beside them rests a clove of garlic on a draped white cloth. The composition is anchored by a dark bottle, creating a sharp contrast against the pale background.
The artist employs a refined academic approach to figurative expression. Every surface is rendered with precision. The folds of the fabric suggest a tactile reality. There is a poetic silence in this arrangement. The objects are not merely food but symbols of domesticity and memory.
The palette remains muted and natural. Subtle shifts in green and cream evoke a sense of calm. This artwork explores the beauty of the ordinary. It transforms a simple kitchen scene into a meditative study of form and light. The balance between the dark silhouette of the glass and the luminosity of the fruit creates a harmonious tension. Each element is placed with botanical accuracy, reflecting a deep fascination with the natural world.
Presentation
Claudine Picard is a French artist born in 1949 who lives and works in Sainte Marie, France. She is graduatedfrom the Ecole Nationale des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD). Nature is for the artiste an infinite source of inspiration. Her work is experimental research, she is inspired by everyday life through figurative expression as a revisited academicism. Claudine provokes the imagination and the reminiscence of memories, lost and poetic emotions by matching symbolic subjects with inhabited and mysterious objects. These in their immobile presence and the fixity of their stripping induces a fascination. Still life immerses us in an atmosphere where the components chosen by associations of shapes and climates resonate each others. Painting is for the artist the search for an aesthetic emotion. As in the way of naturalists entomologists or botanists, she groupes by themes and materials, elements that make up her paintings.
