Description
This abstract composition explores geometry through a play of yellow and sharp lines. The eye circulates between blocks of saturated colors and areas of neutrality. Fuchsia brings a punctual intensity against the softness of mauve.
The balance rests on the rigorous alternation of white, gray, and black. These contrasts structure the space into irregular fragments. The precision of the line reminds of the rigor of glasswork, the founding discipline of the artist's journey.
Acrylic allows for deep saturation and a smooth surface here. Light glides over matte and homogeneous areas. This formal research transforms the canvas into an organized network of visual connections.
The work, created in 2023, is part of a geometric simplification approach. The black frame emphasizes the composition and reinforces the stability of the whole. Each colored segment dialogues with its neighbor to create a constant visual rhythm.
Presentation
Ghislaine Chapuis now expresses her creativity by painting canvases inspired by the fluid acrylic painting technique.
This fascinating technique, in which she has trained, has opened up new creative horizons, giving rise to paintings of astonishing colorful effervescence.
This new artistic path follows a long creative journey that Ghislaine Chapuis began by training at the Centre Européen de Recherche et de Formation aux Arts Verriers in Vannes-le-Châtel, France, where she learned the "Glass Fusing" technique, which involves assembling pieces of glass at high temperature.
Perfecting her skills, the creation of decorative glass pieces gradually led her to create glass paintings, then to imagine acrylic paintings offering the possibility of larger formats.
