SILENT BLOOM — WHEN SILENCE BEGINS TO FLOURISH

In Silent Bloom, Maria Ruisi transforms a solitary flower into a meditative presence, situated between apparition, memory, and light.

Realized in 2022, the work unfolds around a deliberately minimalist composition. A thin stem crosses the space and leads the gaze towards a lush, almost monumental bloom. The petals, constructed by transparent superimpositions of gray, charcoal, and soft black, seem to float on the luminous background.

The artist does not seek to faithfully represent a botanical species. She uses the flower as the manifestation of an inner state: a feeling that slowly awakens, a peace that begins to appear in the silence.

Watercolor brings fluidity, transparency, and breath. Acrylic reinforces certain contours, creates variations in density, and gives the composition its structural presence. Delicate metallic gold accents follow certain lines of the flower and capture the light without breaking the minimalist balance of the whole.

Depending on the lighting, the gold details become more discreet or more luminous. This visual evolution places Silent Bloom within Maria Ruisi's research on the relationships between matter, light, depth, and space.

The contrast between the softness of the washes and the precision of certain lines creates a work that is both fragile and assertive. From a distance, the flower appears immediately in all its expanse. Up close, the transparencies, superimpositions, and variations in material reveal a more intimate dimension.

The verso received the same care as the front and contributes to the complete identity of the work. Maria Ruisi inscribed the title, technical information, and an original poetic message by hand, in metallic gold acrylic. The certificate and the gallery's identification elements are also presented there.
