Description
Exclusive to Belart Gallery.
Raw energy defines this contemporary composition. The artist employs a bold Art brut aesthetic to challenge conventional perception. Thick acrylic strokes dance across the canvas in a rhythmic chaos. We see distorted figures emerging from a whirlwind of pigment. Primary colors clash with stark black outlines. The gesture is urgent and visceral. It reflects a critical gaze on the modern world. Every line feels spontaneous yet deliberate. This artwork rejects formal constraints to embrace a playful intensity. Its visual language transcends traditional borders. Movement flows from the saturated reds to the deep blues. The figures seem to vibrate against the pale background. The 2024 creation balances between abstraction and recognizable form. It evokes a sense of childlike wonder mixed with adult anxiety. This piece captures a fleeting moment of psychic tension. The application of paint remains tactile and layered throughout the surface.
Presentation
Helder Batista was born in 1964 in the south of France.
With a critical eye on the world that surrounds him, Helder Batista proposes a playful interpretation of a symbol of power and strength: the revolver. The gun is wrapped in the flag of different countries, a proof that his art has no borders.
