Description
“Endless Blue" is an original contemporary female figurative painting by French artist Natalya Mougenot, an expressive woman-on-the-sea artwork painted in acrylic on heavyweight professional acid-free paper, measuring 50 × 65 cm (19.69 × 25.59 in). Part of Natalya's ongoing Women series, the painting explores the quiet power of pausing, reconnecting with oneself and simply being present.
At the heart of Natalya's approach is authenticity. She is not interested in creating perfectly controlled images or reproducing reality exactly as it appears. Her paintings are about capturing a feeling — allowing the movement of the brush, the intensity of colour and the imperfections of the human gesture to remain visible. The woman in Endless Blue is not presented as an idealised figure, but as a person absorbed in a genuine moment of stillness, looking out towards the endless sea.
Natalya's work is rooted in a metamodern approach to contemporary art, where emotional sincerity, personal experience and expressive freedom can coexist with a contemporary visual language. She embraces both simplicity and intensity, reality and imagination, control and spontaneity.
Colour is central to this language. Natalya uses bright, saturated colours not simply to make her paintings decorative, but to communicate emotion. The intense blue of the sea and sky creates a feeling of openness and infinity, while the vivid red of the woman's clothing brings warmth, vitality and human presence. Green connects the scene to nature, creating a dynamic contrast that makes the whole composition feel alive.
The visible brushstrokes are equally important. They preserve the energy of the moment and remind us that this is a handmade, expressive work rather than an image designed to be perfectly polished. For Natalya, the trace of the artist's hand is part of the meaning of the painting.
Endless Blue may particularly appeal to art lovers who are drawn to contemporary figurative art, expressive painting and works that bring colour, emotion and a sense of freedom into an interior. Its strong blue, red and green palette can create a vibrant focal point in a modern, contemporary, Mediterranean, eclectic or minimalist interior, bringing energy without losing its contemplative quality.
The woman looking towards the sea becomes an invitation to do the same: to take a pause, breathe, and allow yourself to enjoy the present moment.

Presentation
Natalya is a contemporary french artist living in Lyon.
She was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, the country known for its spacious steppes.
She arrived in France 2003. Since that moment she loves her adoptive country.
She started painting in 2017 and used it as a therapeutic and emotional release during times of crisis. She incorporates this therapeutic approach in her artistic creative process till now.
In her artistic practice she refers to the terms of metamodernism, which proposes to look at the world from the position of the inner adult.
As an artist and as a woman she translates the experience of her personal search for balance based on harmony between mind, soul and body. This balance, in her opinion, is the pillar for the inner adult.
Important components of her work are authenticity, soulfulness, sincerity, emotionality and honesty. She immerses the objects and the characters in the world where there is no falsity, rudeness, loneliness and indifference.
She works rapidly and is constantly sensitive to the details.
Her artistic process is a fine balance between a pre-meditation and spontantainty which helps her to create her expressive atmospheric artworks with a modern touch of impressionism by cultivating a naive art approach.
