Description
This contemporary surrealist painting transports the viewer into a world where the sea becomes a realm of dreams and the boundary between reality and fantasy dissolves in the golden light of the horizon.
Enormous waves are painted in deep blues, turquoise, ochre, and fiery orange tones. The sun glows above the water, casting a long golden path across the surface, as though leading into the unknown. Amid the turbulent waves rests an open seashell resembling a precious cradle. Inside, wrapped in soft folds of pale blue and white fabric, a young woman sleeps peacefully.
In this fantastical landscape, the sea appears both as a powerful natural force and as a gentle guardian. Waves rise around the fragile shell but do not threaten it — instead, they seem to protect the sleep of their mysterious guest. Perhaps the woman has found refuge here from the noise and demands of the outside world. The shell can be seen as a symbol of birth, protection, and inner transformation, while the sleeping woman represents tranquillity amid the constant movement of life.
The contrast between the raging waves and the motionless figure creates a distinctive emotional atmosphere. The painting brings together the power of nature and human fragility, the restless energy of the ocean and the quiet serenity of sleep. The golden sky lends the composition an almost mythological quality, transforming the seascape into a scene from an ancient legend or fairytale.
This original painting on canvas combines elements of surrealism, fantasy art, and symbolic painting. It will appeal to those who love unusual seascapes, mysterious narratives, and contemporary art that leaves room for personal interpretation.
The painting will make a striking focal point in modern, eclectic, or Mediterranean-style interiors, bringing depth, colour, and an atmosphere of mystery to the space.
Presentation
Irina: "I am full-time artist. I find my happiness in doing art. Art is a part of my soul, my energy, my vision of the world. I consider myself a multi-faceted artist, I like to experiment with materials. I realized that I can create beauty not only with paints. I create three-dimensional artworks with volumetric elements. I work in two directions: mosaic paintings and wall sculpture art. I use decorative found objects, mosaic, plaster, wood, shells, crystals, gemstones, anything that can realize my ideas. My art is full of life and joy. The main theme is a Woman, her life, thoughts, feelings, relationships with people and the world".
